Renault brought back the 5 model when it showed off a concept version of a car with the same name in January of last year. The electric machine was called a prototype, not a concept, and now a French car company is getting ready to make a new version of the same car. It will be shown off for the first time later this month at the Paris Motor Show, and we already have the first teaser images.
Renault released three photos of the new show car. They show a three-door hatchback that looks sporty and has a big fixed rear wing. From what we can see, the Renault 5 concept gets a new hardcore aerodynamic package with wider fenders, new bumper diffusers, longer side sills, and super wide wheels. So far, everything looks very good.

The company that makes cars says that this new idea comes just in time for the 50th anniversary of this. The prototype that will be shown in Paris will be “a modern tribute to its most legendary sports versions.” The company is probably talking about the Renault 5 Turbo when they say this. This hot hatch was made in two generations from 1980 to 1986. It is still thought of as one of the best cars Renault has ever made.
Renault says that the new version is all electric and gets its ideas from the world of video games. The teaser images don’t come with any specs, but the company says that the Renault 5 concept will “combine outstanding exuberance with high-level performance.”
We just saw a Renault prototype a few days ago, and we think that it was hiding the production version of the 5 under what looked like a Clio mule. People think that the new electric hatchback will replace the Zoe, which is expected to stay on the market for a few more years. To beat the urban EV, its replacement will need to go more than 383 kilometres (283 miles) on a single charge. This second Renault 5 concept could be a look at a possible high-performance version of the regular Renault 5.
