Get Out of the Rut- It’s Time to Do something Unique

It’s easy to get stuck in the same daily routines, and it can be really hard to get out of them once you’re there. Even if they aren’t what you want your life to be like, they can feel comfortable in their familiarity. To get out of the rut and make changes to your life, whether you have something big you want to do or just want more variation from day to day, start by figuring out what’s holding you back from what you want to accomplish.

Step outside your comfort zone

Why spend your whole life comfortable? The world is full of wonders, and if you let yourself get stuck in a rut. Then you’re missing out on opportunities to experience something new. Step outside your comfort zone and try something new. You might just find that not only will it help brighten up your day—it could be exactly what helps you feel motivated again.

Diversify your resume

For many people, it’s a no-brainer: when you’re looking for a new job, you update your resume. But while all good resumes should be customized to each position. Don’t stop there. Make sure that you are diversifying your resume by tailoring different versions for different job openings—and keep them up-to-date at all times. You can take an existing copy and quickly change it in places so that it highlights skills and experience relevant to new positions.

Stop comparing yourself to others

There’s a reason we say that everyone around us is either ahead of us or behind us. Life is always better if you stop comparing yourself to others and focus on what you have going for you, rather than what other people have going for them. To get out of your rut, choose a mindset that allows you to be proud of your accomplishments. That way, when others ask how you got where you are, they won’t make it seem like their achievements were more impressive than yours (or vice versa).

Know who you are

Everyone has a personal brand — a way that other people think about you. Whether you realize it or not, many factors in your personality and life make up your brand. If there are things about yourself that you don’t like, change them! Try new things and explore different ways of doing things; learn how to accept compliments and use them as opportunities for growth. If someone describes you as unmotivated, break out of your rut! Excuses are just a way for us to avoid taking responsibility for our own lives — don’t do it! You can be anything or anyone if you put your mind to it. So get out there and start living!

Start by setting goals

Too many people get so caught up in their day-to-day grind that they completely lose sight of why they set goals in the first place. Setting goals is good, but if you’re not taking action on them or pushing yourself toward them, you might as well not have any at all. The best way to take charge is by setting SMART goals (goals that are specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-based). The acronym helps keep you focused and ensures your endgame—which also needs a deadline—is clear and attainable.

Build up an arsenal of tools and resources

Working at home can be a great experience, but it isn’t without its challenges. If you’re lucky enough to work from home, then you know that distraction is just around every corner. I can personally attest to how easy it is to fall into an unmotivated rut from time to time. Luckily, there are some great tools and resources out there that can help save your productivity when things start going south. These tools range from physical accessories for your computer monitor and keyboard to actual apps on your phone or tablet. I was also stuck on my YT channel. But let, Get Out of the Rut and then I realize that I can get my audience on my website, so why I don’t do this. After this, I make my Unmotivated World and I know It’s not enough that’s why I plan too much for this world.

Surround yourself with positive people

When you are around people who are happy and motivated, it rubs off on you. A negative environment is toxic to your motivation and will prevent you from reaching your goals. If things at work or home aren’t going well, try adding some positivity to your life. Surround yourself with other positive people, watch a funny movie, listen to music that makes you smile—do whatever it takes to create an upbeat atmosphere for yourself!

Move out of your routine

If you’re feeling stuck, it’s time to get moving! Making a few small changes can make a big difference in your mood and overall motivation. Start by waking up earlier than usual or going for an evening walk after dinner. If you exercise in your off-hours, try upping your intensity; adding resistance training or running intervals will amp up your fat burn and send those feel-good endorphins coursing through your body.
